I’m not really a political person but this line from the Green party is SUCH a dick move. Pathetic.

Great identity work. Combining new ideas with “standard” elements to create something truly iconic. It’s great to see the ideas that didn’t make it.

They have completely missed the point. The Obama campaign, whether you believe in the guy or not not, was very well managed online, but the message behind it – the idea of Change, the idea that We Can, was what inspired people to go and vote for him. Not the fact that you could find him on Facebook.

Seems to me the government should stop worrying about what Twitter username to use, and start worrying about their message. Like the message they are giving out today that they don’t care about people getting cancer, by their cancelling of the Cervical Cancer Vaccination scheme.

People are blogging about it, and Redmum has set up a campaign about it, and Today FM have an online form about it – but what’s important is not the way people are using the internet etc. to highlight their disgust and campaign against it – what’s important is the message – that cancelling this scheme is a terrible idea.

So the party hacks who are thinking “Hey, we need an oul facebook on the myspace” – why not spend a bit more time on the message and worry a bit less about the medium – because right now it’s pretty pissed off with you.
