The call for entries has been announced for the IDI Awards 2009. The IDI is the Institute of Designers in Ireland, and the awards celebrate outstanding Irish design in a wide variety of fields including Interior Design, Visual Communication, Television and New Media.

The closing date for submission of entries is Monday 31 August, so the clock is ticking!

X Communciations were big winners in the New Media category last year, winning awards for Childline.ie, McDonalds.ie and The National Concert Hall.

To enter the awards visit the IDI Design Awards website – note that you need to be a member of the IDI to submit an entry.

I recently became the New Media section representative on the IDI Council – currently I’m finding my feet and working on updating the IDI site so it’s a bit more flexible and easier for memebrs to share their news – so any comments are welcome!
